For those that know me well know that I have another lifetime experience of gettin’ down and shakin’ the booty with some of the greatest artists of our time. George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars, Prince and Boogie Knights were among my favorites. So when I heard that Earth, Wind and Fire were coming to the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival I nearly fell over in my seat! And for those that know the Riviera Maya know that this time of year is our rainy season. For a month I have been doing a sun dance so this show wouldn’t get rained out. Well, we got a little wet but Earth, Wind and Fire put on one of the greatest shows I’ve seen in a long time.
Originally conceived in 1969 Earth, Wind and Fire fuses funk, jazz, soul, rock & roll, blues, gospel and disco into one psychedelic, tightly arranged, groovalicious concert. 
The shores of Mamitas Beach Club in Playa Del Carmen filled with locals and tourists from all over the world to see EWF get down with one hit after the other.
The soul, the love and the talent flew off the stage in a rythmical kaleidoscope of sound.
Lead singer Philip Bailey mesmerized the crowd with his amazing vocal range.
The entire band gave their all. The visuals were great and the message of LOVE was clear.
I have to give it to all involved in bringing the Riviera Maya such a great festival. Props to the crew that set it up each day in and out of the rain and the sea of people that weathered the storms to listen to their favorite jazz musicians from all over Mexico.
I can’t wait to hear what the line up will be for next year!
